My son just sent me this website. It is wonderful! Our cottage is on Middle Island. We love the river!

I grew up in the Thousand Islands and have DEEPLY enjoyed your work and photo books, I have given out dozens of copies to friends and family who all cherish the memories of the river your work evokes. Thank you!!

I entered into this 1000islandsphotoart/Coristine world and was naturally blown away! The work is beautiful and I want some! In the sixties I sailed from Niagara-on-the-Lake to the Bateau Channel in an Albacore with a crazy Irish friend of mine who is only a memory, but for the time we sailed the islands we charmed every woman who looked our way from Alex Bay, to Boldt Castle and back to Kingston! It was the time of young men with an eye for the fairer sex and all it offered. Your images take me back to the early mornings of mist hanging over the water and the massive boats silently slipping by. From the images I have seen today, you have done the profession proud. I look at many and wish I had gently released the shutter. I just got to shoot things that went fast, or jumped higher, ran faster, or dove deeper."

I just wanted to say that I am a huge fan of your photography. I got one of your books today. The shots in it are incredible. I hope to get more books this summer when i visit Alexandria Bay.

I stumbled upon your site this morning while trying to show pictures of the 1000 islands to someone who had never been - it was impossible to explain just how beautiful this haven is until we got to your site... clearly, the islands are as special to you as they are to us. Your work is outstanding and my wife and I will look forward to seeing more of your work when we sail through again next year.

I look at your webcam several times a day to see the weather. I have a place on Dingman Pt. Road, can see Deer Island and through the islands to Rockport. Been going to A-Bay since I was 10. Now the kids and grandchildren go. It's only been a month since I closed and I miss it already. Your photos are beautiful. Thanks so much .

Beautiful photographs of places I have loved in my childhood. I was born in Watertown, NY where my mother grew up. My grandparents had a summer cottage in Henderson Harbor & later a large stone summer home at Sackets Harbor. Mother related many stories of visits to abandoned castles & large summer places on many of the Thousand Islands during her early years in the 1920s & 30s. My step grandmother's first husband was Charles Hayden who owned one of those big homes on an island & who was a Commordore of the Thousand Island Yacht Club circa 1912---I have his gold pocket watch given him by "His Friends at the Thousand Island Yacht Club." My great Aunt & Uncle had a summer home at Cape Vincent, NY.

I was admiring, once again, your incredible work while I was on the nothcountrynews.com website. You are quite the artist and you bring so much to our area. I just wanted to say thank you for that.

I would like to thank you for your amazing photography. Growing up not far from the 1000 islands in Rochester, NY I was grateful enough to spend some of my summer days camping on Wellesley island in a park called DeWolf. Every summer since I can remember my whole family would pack the car and head north. Now that I'm living in Colorado this is my first year missing out on our tradition. I will admit it, I got a little homesick and needed something to make me smile and your photos did just that.

On a cold, wet, dark winter day when I'm yearning for time on my boat in the 1000 Islands all I have to do is open one of Ian's books and I immediately become lost in the beauty of Ian's photography rejuvenating my soul. Thanks Ian.

I just got back from spending a week in the 1000 Islands......it was my very first trip to the region and I must say that it is just beautiful there. My youngest brother got married in the chapel on Grenell Island this past Saturday. Because I had never been there, I wanted to do some research on the region and had come across your website. As an avid photographer, I have a deep appreciation for your beautiful work and how you portray the whole area perfectly with your pictures. I've lived in New York State my whole life and had never been in that part of the state. I would love to go back!!

Ahhh... FINALLY, the season is here! It's so wonderful to arrive every weekend, smell the water, go to bed early, wake early and listen to the silence (before all the crazies hit the water) and take it all in. This is what we all wait for through the winter.

Thank you for your amazing pictures. I have been to the 1000 Islands every summer since I was 2 months old. I miss it the moment I leave. It is my home away from home. My heaven on earth. Thank you for giving me some peace through your pictures all these many miles away from where I want to be.
