Volume II
Water, Wind and Sky blends the distinction between photography and art. It is the book Coristine wanted to do for dedicated islanders and residents, celebrating the raw beauty of the place wherever it is found.
Water, Wind and Sky is 9.5 inches square with a padded hard cover. It is printed in full color and contains 138 pages of images, a watermarked onion skin title page and two detailed maps that locate every scene in the book using page numbers in their respective locations. The hard to find "secret places" from history are also revealed via map coordinates. Printed with pride by Henderson Printing in Brockville, Ontario, using 5 colors, a matte finish and very high resolution, it is the definitive look at the region and the work the artist is the most proud to share.
The book costs $60 US or individual giclée prints can be ordered for $150 US including shipping and handling (overseas orders please add $20).

Just a quick not to tell you how often we use your book to get through the Vermont winter. My Family bought me a signed one this summer at the bookstore in Gan and it travels back and forth with us. At last a photographer who knows the beauty of The lake Fleet Group Michael Brink, VT

IT'S A WONDERFUL BOOK! You must be proud. Doug Rawlinson, Hill Island
I showed "Water, Wind and Sky" to a colleague the other day when we dropped by my place after doing site inspections. As Head of our Design Department , Phil pays close attention to detail. He was impressed! Of course he couldn't put it down so we didn't return to work until he finished. I could go on and on. Joan Michie
I am enjoying Water, Wind and Sky so very much. I love the copy as well....great job. I also love that your choice for the copy is in a color and background that don't "fight" with the gorgeous photographs! You should feel so good about what you have contributed in such a unique way to everyone's appreciation (maybe as a tourist) and LOVE (all River Rats) of The River. Your LOVE of it and your love of all life shines through on every page of your books. The River truly chose you! Judy Munroe, Murray Isle & West Palm Beach, FL
I'm sitting here holding my AUTOGRAPHED copy of your new book (Water, Wind and WOW!). We picked up our first copy at Corbin's last week.
Ian, it's hard to even put into words what a work of art you have put together here of our favorite place on earth (but that has, of course, never stopped me from trying). It is stunning. A masterpiece. There were so many pages that left me breathless that it is hard to single out any in particular. I'd gotten to see a few via the wallpapers, but that made them no less wonderful to actually see in print (and read the winning captions).
I think some of the ones that dazzled me the most included the shot on page 74 (INCREDIBLE!!), page 63 (could this even be real???), pages 131 and 122 (Glory!), the water ski shot, the geese in flight shots, ... OH, and the sun-pine on page 68. Whoa! And... well, all the rest, too. We will treasure this book. Patricia Mondore, Janesville, NY
Yesterday, after our weekend guest left for home, I finally had a chance to sit down and read and study the pictures in your new book. It was a delight and I turned each page with great anticipation. I loved your first book and didn’t think you could better than it, but I was wrong. This new book is totally fantastic and so beautifully bound. Many of our friends took a quick peek at parts of it and were definitely going shopping for their own copy. Judy Orr, Mundlanta Is.
Just a quick note that I received the Water, Wind and Sky book in the mail yesterday. It is really beautiful, and worth every second you invested in the making of the book. I expect it will be a sell-out without any problem. The photography is breath-taking and I love how you numbered the photos, and have a key of where they were taken. It will be fun for me to investigate some of the places over time! Please know that your efforts to do this great work is so very much appreciated. I anticipate purchasing at least two more for gifts in the near future. We will be heading up to Clayton this Sunday just for the day... Mary Kay Lalonde, Ithica, NY
I am the proud owner of Lone Tree Island in Rockport, and was THRILLED to see the title page of the new book. Just when I thought the 1st book was unbeatable….this one! I bought 3 copies over the weekend! Suzanne Skibinski, Lone Tree Island
Just saw the new book - it is absolutely beautiful! Congratulations - I know it was a lot of work and had its share of problems but please know the finished product is outstanding! Heather Howard, Lansdowne, ON
I bought your book and it is very nice. Nice photos, nice repro, good editing, ....you really did it right with the map and index inside the front and rear covers. Jon Reis Photo + Design, Ithica, NY
What a delightful surprise to receive a personal note from the author and photographer of such a beautiful book. I have to tell you how I discovered it. We took a week long cruise up the St Lawrence on the Canadian Empress and your signed copy of "Water, Wind and Sky" was on the bookshelves. The Captain invited us to borrow books as long as we returned them -and I couldn't let it out of my hands until I had my own copy! Now that I do, the book is on it's way via mail to Kingston to resume its place of prominence aboard the Empress. As you may have guessed I am one of those "River wannabees" having grown up in Northern NY. But our families budget resulted in summers on the lake on Chaumont Bay with occasional day trips to THE RIVER to ease my hunger. I now live in Florida where I teach watercolor. But whenever I start to paint from memory my brush depicts a misty island with a few storm battered pine trees growing out of the rocks. Thanks for giving me new visions of of the most beautiful place on this planet. Carol Norton Dingman |
